Tristan Dorfling is the Chief Executive Officer of Provar. A horticultural scientist by training, he specialises in apple rootstock research and genotype × environment interactions. Tristan leads long-term industry-funded trials across South Africa, working closely with breeders, nurseries and producers to evaluate cultivar and rootstock performance under commercial conditions. His work focuses on generating practical, science-based insights that support better orchard management, reduce production risk and strengthen decision-making across the fruit value chain.
