Alexander Kruger is an MSc student in Horticultural Science at Stellenbosch University and
a research intern at Provar. He completed his BSc Agric degree in Soil and Water
Management at Stellenbosch University. His research focuses on evaluating the tolerance of
apple rootstocks to Specific Apple Replant Disease (SARD) under South African orchard
conditions, with the aim of identifying rootstocks that improve tree establishment, vigour and
long-term productivity in replant sites.
